The Romance of Ants

An Exhibition at The Field Museum, Chicago

Kudos to you all and the Field Museum for this exhibition. I love that it paints a picture (or a drawing as the case may be!) of the work that otherwise goes on behind-the-scenes at a museum like the Field.

Carrie: How does it feel to be the protagonist of an exhibition in the museum?  I'm also curious to know what originally sparked the idea to put together this kind of show.  What do you hope people walk away knowing or thinking about?

Many thanks in advance for your thoughts,

Lauren

Hello Lauren,

I am glad you enjoyed The Romance of Ants!  It was certainly fun to be involved with the exhibit.  The Romance of Ants is part of a new series called Straight from the Field, which will highlight Field Museum science and scientists through small temporary exhibits.  Although this will likely be the only one of the series in the comic book style, be sure to keep your eye out for new exhibits showcasing our scientific staff.

I am very happy with how the exhibit turned out and all the positive feed back we have received.  Thanks to you and everyone who has written in (on the website and through other means).  We want people to realize that although the Field Museum has an outstanding public exhibit, we also have a world class scientific staff and research collections.

Thanks again for writing in!

Corrie
